Monday Memo: Is your ecosystem ready for you?

Take a load off - it's only Monday!

C once asked me if I understood what 'ecosystem' meant when used in a business sense.  I vaguely remember saying something about terrariums, but he told a much better story to illuminate its meaning; he walked me through how the iPhone was such a game-changer because it was released at a time when its ecosystem could support it.  That is, Apple may have had the technology to release it years before they did, but were it not for the internet speeds and online resources available at its time of release we would've all told Steve he can keep his shiny phone.

Its success correlated entirely with where its ecosystem would allow for it to be.  A good thought to usher in the new work week.
